Domino’s Cinnastix
There’s something magical about the combination of warm pizza and sweet, cinnamon-sugar covered breadsticks. I’ll never forget the first time I ordered Domino’s Cinnastix – that moment of dunking the warm, buttery stick into sweet vanilla icing and taking that first heavenly bite. While Domino’s has since changed their recipe, I’m excited to share this copycat version that captures the original’s nostalgic charm. The best part? It takes just 15 minutes to make at home!

Why This Recipe Works
These homemade Cinnastix deliver the perfect balance of soft, buttery bread and sweet cinnamon-sugar coating, complete with a silky vanilla icing for dipping. They’re incredibly easy to make and require just a handful of simple ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen.
Cinnastix Ingredients
For the Cinnastix
- 1 package pizza dough (about 1 pound) – Provides the soft, chewy base and can be store-bought or homemade
- Butter – Creates a rich flavor and helps the cinnamon-sugar mixture stick
- Granulated sugar – Adds sweetness and creates the signature crystallized coating
- Ground cinnamon – Provides the warm, spicy flavor that makes these sticks irresistible
For the Vanilla Icing
- Powdered sugar – Creates a smooth, sweet base for the icing
- Milk – Helps achieve the perfect dipping consistency
- Butter, melted – Adds richness and helps create a silky texture
- Vanilla extract – Provides depth of flavor and aroma
You don’t need to make up a batch of homemade pizza dough, but you can. Most grocery stores sell refrigerated pizza dough in a can. If you go to the deli at Walmart you can get pizza dough, and Trader Joe’s is known for its delicious pizza dough.

How to Make Domino’s Cinnastix
Instructions
Preparing the Breadsticks
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle approximately 10 by 12 inches.
- Cut the dough in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 8 equal strips, creating 16 pieces total.
- Place the strips on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each piece.
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
Making the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating
- While the breadsticks are baking, combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Melt the butter in a separate bowl.
- When the breadsticks come out of the oven, immediately brush them with melted butter.
- Generously sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered breadsticks.
Preparing the Icing
- Combine the powdered sugar, melted butter, and vanilla in a medium bowl.
- Gradually add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you achieve your desired consistency.
- Whisk until smooth and free of lumps.

Ingredients
Cinnastix
- 1 pound pizza dough or 1 package of pizza dough mix
- 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Icing
- 1 pound powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out pizza dough to a rectangle, roughly 10 by 12 inches, cut in half across the longest side, and then cut the other sides into 8ths. You should have 16 individual pieces now.
Place pieces onto a lightly greased baking sheet, and bake for approximately 15 minutes. While the sticks are baking, make the icing by combining the powdered sugar, vanilla, milk, and 1 tablespoon of butter. You may need to add additional milk to thin down the icing.
Set icing aside. Combine the 1/2 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a bowl, mix well. Melt the 1/4 cup butter and when the pizza dough is done brush with butter. Sprinkle over the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the freshly buttered sticks. Enjoy.
Notes
- When cutting the shape of the cinnastix, roll out pizza dough to a rectangle, roughly 10 by 12 inches, cut in half across the longest side, and then cut the other sides into 8ths. You should have 16 individual pieces now.
- If you don’t have butter, you can replace it with margarine
- This icing dipping sauce goes perfectly with the Cinnastix but you can also make a cream cheese dipping sauce or even a honey dipping sauce.
